How much will a treatment cost?
It depends on the type of object, its condition, and what you would like done to it. Before giving an estimate, I must examine the object in person and draft a treatment proposal. Read more about treatment proposals here.
I have an object that needs to be conserved, but can’t afford treatment.
I have compiled a list of grantors that fund conservation treatments and collection care improvements here. Most grants are only available to museums or charities.
Do you offer talks on textile conservation?
Yes, I offer presentations and workshops for museums, community groups, and others. You can learn more about my education outreach here.
What kind of objects do you treat?
I work with a wide variety of textiles including clothing, embroideries, furnishings, flags, and more. If you’re not sure if your object counts as a textile, feel free to ask!
What are the next steps, if I’m interested in having an object treated?
First, contact me here. Then, we can discuss the project and getting the object to the studio for a treatment proposal. After the proposal is accepted, I can go ahead with treatment.
